JAMB has made the process simple, but many candidates still get stuck due to small errors. Follow these steps carefully.
Before you do anything:
· Make sure the phone number is active
· It must be linked to your NIN
· This same number should be used throughout your JAMB registration
Open your phone’s messaging app and send:
NIN 12345678900
Send it to 55019 or 66019
Note: There must be a space between NIN and your 11-digit number.
If everything is correct:
· JAMB will send you a 10-digit profile code
· The code comes via SMS
· Save it carefully—you’ll need it at every stage
If you don’t receive a reply, it’s usually because:
· Your NIN is not properly linked to your SIM
· You used an inactive or borrowed phone number
· The SMS format was incorrect
Fix these issues before trying again.
JAMB has released the full UTME timeline for 2026. These are the dates that matter most:
· Sale of UTME forms: 19 January – 26 February 2026
· UTME registration at CBT centres: 26 January – 28 February 2026
· Deadline for Mock exam selection: 16 February 2026
· Close of UTME registration: 28 February 2026
· JAMB Mock exam: 28 March 2026
· Main UTME exam: 16 – 25 April 2026
· Direct Entry registration: 2 March – 25 April 2026
Missing any of these dates can cost you an entire admission year.
Candidates who act early:
· Avoid network and system congestion
· Get better CBT centre options
· Have more time to prepare properly
· Reduce costly registration mistakes
Waiting till the last minute is one of the biggest reasons students fail JAMB before the exam even starts.
Your JAMB Profile Code is the foundation of your entire UTME journey. Once you get it right, every other step becomes easier.
If you’re serious about passing JAMB 2026, don’t just register—prepare strategically.
